Smyth in Chicago Tops North America's 50 Best Restaurants 2026
Smyth in Chicago has been named the best restaurant in North America for 2026. Sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, the list highlights esteemed culinary achievements across the region. The announcement was made at a ceremony in New Orleans, featuring chefs from various parts of North America.
Smyth, led by John Shields and Karen Urie Shields, has climbed to the top spot from No.4 in 2025 by focusing on personal and seasonal ingredients. Following Smyth, Eight in Calgary and Restaurant Pearl Morissette in Lincoln took the second and third spots, respectively.
Several special awards were also presented. Emeril Lagasse received the SevenRooms Icon Award, and Eunji Lee was named North America's Best Pastry Chef. The event celebrated culinary diversity and innovation across 20 cities.
