Air Liquide Invests $170M in U.S. for SK hynix’s AI Memory Ecosystem

Air Liquide has announced an investment of over $170 million in Indiana to support SK hynix's ambition of creating a global AI memory ecosystem. Under a long-term contract, the company will build and operate two production units to supply ultra-pure gases to SK hynix's first U.S. fabrication facility. This investment aims to meet the growing demand for next-generation chips essential for AI advancements.

These units will deliver significant volumes of industrial gases like nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen directly to SK hynix's advanced chips packaging facility by the end of 2028. The proximity of Air Liquide's facilities is crucial to maintain a high-quality supply for the precise environment needed in advanced packaging.

This strategic move strengthens Air Liquide’s position in the U.S. semiconductor market and underlines its commitment to supporting SK hynix’s expansion and AI technology development. The partnership reflects both companies' dedication to fostering a robust semiconductor ecosystem in Indiana.
