Air Liquide Opens First Advanced Materials Plant in Taiwan

Air Liquide has inaugurated its new Advanced Materials manufacturing plant in Taichung City, Taiwan. This facility, the first of its kind for Air Liquide in Taiwan, aims to support the next generation of semiconductors. It focuses on producing advanced deposition and etching materials crucial for chips powering Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing. Positioned in a strategic semiconductor hub, this plant aims to ensure material reliability and performance, vital for miniaturized chip manufacturing.

This facility enhances Air Liquide’s ecosystem in Taiwan, a country where the company has deep roots and has invested over 1 billion euros since 2019. The plant underscores the importance of localizing production to improve supply chain reliability and foster collaboration with semiconductor manufacturers, especially in an era of rapid technological expansion.

Armelle Levieux of Air Liquide emphasized the plant's strategic significance, noting the company’s continued commitment to supporting chipmakers with innovative solutions. This move is considered a major step in Air Liquide's growth in Asia, further solidifying its presence in a pivotal market.
