DNV Study Highlights Advantages of CERENERGY Batteries

An independent study by DNV has confirmed the advantages of Altech's CERENERGY sodium chloride solid-state batteries over other stationary battery technologies. Conducted on behalf of Altech, the study underscores CERENERGY's extended service life of 15 to 30 years and superior charging cycles compared to alternatives like lithium-ion and vanadium flow batteries.

Significant benefits include its non-flammable nature ensuring 100% safety, which negates the need for external cooling or heating, making it versatile across various climatic conditions. DNV suggests these batteries as promising future technology with expectations for advancements in energy density, performance, and cost efficiency.

Altech plans to commercialize CERENERGY, marking it as a competitive product in the renewable energy storage market. A 120 MWh production site in Saxony is in the works to facilitate grid storage solutions.
