Exclusive agreement between Syngenta and Amoéba for a biofungicide in Europe

Syngenta Crop Protection AG and Amoéba announce an exclusive distribution agreement for an innovative biofungicide for cereals, covering the EU, the UK, Ukraine, and Switzerland. Commercial launch is planned for 2028/29.

This partnership introduces a product based on the lysate of the amoeba Willaertia magna C2c Maky, targeting wheat septoria and yellow rust, fungal diseases that severely impact yields. With a distinct mode of action, the biofungicide is designed to limit resistance by inhibiting spore germination.

Field trials conducted by partners show significant effectiveness. This product could become an asset for European cereal farmers facing a reduction in traditional treatment options within a demanding regulatory environment.
