Aperam Acquires Universal Stainless & Alloy Products

Aperam, a global leader in stainless and specialty steel solutions, has completed its acquisition of Universal Stainless & Alloy Products for an enterprise value of USD 537 million. The acquisition has received all necessary regulatory approvals without conditions, marking a significant expansion of Aperam's presence in the aerospace and industrial sectors in the United States.

With this acquisition, Aperam expects to achieve annual synergies of USD 30 million within five years. Universal Stainless will be consolidated into Aperam's Alloys & Specialties segment, enhancing the company's product range and global presence. This move aligns with Aperam's strategy to grow its market share in critical industries and reduce business cyclicality.

Aperam's CEO, Timoteo Di Maulo, highlighted the strategic benefits of the acquisition, noting the potential for innovation and growth. Universal's CEO, Christopher Zimmer, expressed enthusiasm for the increased resources and reach offered by this partnership.
