Senegal's Investment Forum Aims to Boost Foreign Capital
In an effort to reshape foreign direct investment (FDI) in Africa, Senegal is hosting the Forum Invest in Senegal 2025 (Fii Senegal 2025) in Diamniadio. This event marks Senegal's ambition to attract more foreign capital, especially following its 2024 success of drawing nearly $3 billion in FDI, focusing on energy and infrastructure.
According to Bakary Séga Bathily, Director General of APIX, Senegal is positioning itself as a strategic gateway for attracting global capital, technology, and expertise. Highlighting projects in energy, infrastructure, and digital sectors, the forum aims to leverage these to cement Senegal's status as a competitive and stable market for investors.
With a projected growth of 8.4% in 2025, Senegal seeks to showcase its political stability, strategic location, and new regulatory frameworks to global markets, hoping to transform announced projects into tangible investments.
