The Lyon Biennale 2026: A Landmark Event for Contemporary Art

The Lyon Contemporary Art Biennale, scheduled for autumn 2026, is poised to become a key event in the art world. Attracting nearly 300,000 visitors to each edition, this French event has garnered international attention. It provides a platform where artists, professionals, and collectors can meet and exchange ideas.

Berlin-based curator Catherine Nichols is directing this 18th edition. She is developing a project around poetic economics, inspired by Robert Filliou, which transcends the traditional approach to economics. The event brings together more than 70 international artists and highlights scenes often overlooked in Europe.
