Atlas Salt Announces Leadership Transition Amid Development Progress
Atlas Salt Inc. has announced that Mr. Rick LaBelle will step down as CEO and Director effective March 19, 2025. Mr. Patrick Laracy, the current Chairman, will temporarily take over the executive management duties. The company has begun searching for a new CEO to lead it through its next phase.
Mr. LaBelle's tenure saw the company advancing from feasibility to the development stage, achieving significant milestones such as environmental approval and detailed engineering preparations for the Great Atlantic Salt deposit located in western Newfoundland. Moving forward, the company aims to secure project financing as it continues with construction efforts.
The ongoing geotechnical drill program has nearly completed its assessment of core samples from 17 of 20 proposed drill holes, which will guide the excavation process to access the salt deposit.
Atlas Salt's Great Atlantic project boasts a 34-year mine life with favorable financial projections, thanks to its shallow depth, environmental considerations, and logistical advantages.
