Atlas Salt Finalizes Drilling Phase for Great Atlantic Salt Project
Atlas Salt Inc. has completed the geotechnical drilling and data collection phase at its Great Atlantic Salt Project in Newfoundland. This marks a significant milestone, as the company has gathered crucial information on rock quality, structural conditions, and groundwater characteristics. The data analysis phase is ongoing, with results expected by the third quarter of 2025.
The project aims to minimize geotechnical risks and boost the efficiency of the mine development. Atlas Salt collaborated with Terrane Geoscience Inc. and GEMTEC Consulting to interpret the data for subsequent design stages. Robert Booth, VP of Construction & Engineering, highlighted the program's role in enhancing safety and cost efficiency.
