Birla Carbon Launches New Continua™ SCM Production Line in Italy
Birla Carbon has announced the inauguration of a new production line at its Trecate, Italy, facility dedicated to the finishing and packaging of Continua™ Sustainable Carbonaceous Material (SCM). This development aims to enhance supply security and maintain product consistency across global markets. The raw material will be sourced from Circtec's pyrolysis facility in the Netherlands.
John Loudermilk, CEO, stated that this move represents a significant milestone towards Birla Carbon's goal of recycling 300,000 tons of end-of-life tires annually by 2030, aligning with the company's net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050.
John Davidson, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, emphasized the customer and sustainability benefits, highlighting the availability of the sustainable product portfolio and its capability to meet performance standards globally.
