QNX and Vector Partner to Enhance Software-Defined Vehicle Development
On June 23, 2025, QNX, a branch of BlackBerry Limited, and Vector announced a Memorandum of Understanding to collaboratively develop a Foundational Vehicle Software Platform. This partnership is set to streamline the creation of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and simplify automotive software integration. The new platform promises to merge Vector's middleware technology with QNX's safety-certified operating system, aiming to enhance application development and deployment in modern vehicles.
The alliance intends to transform the traditional automotive value chain, promoting open collaboration and adherence to industry standards. An Early Access version will be released to select partners, with a fully certified version expected by late 2026. This move highlights a strategic shift towards more efficient, safer, and scalable vehicle software development.
QNX and Vector's platform will debut at the Automobil-Elektronik Kongress in Ludwigsburg, showcasing its potential to empower OEMs and developers in creating the next generation of intelligent vehicles.
