Borussia Dortmund Extends Contract with Nico Schlotterbeck Until 2031

Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA has announced the extension of Nico Schlotterbeck's contract until 2031. The 26-year-old defender joined Dortmund from SC Freiburg in 2022 and has since been a key player, participating in 155 matches, scoring 10 goals, and making 18 assists. Schlotterbeck, who has played 25 matches for the German national team, is highly valued by Borussia Dortmund.

CEO Carsten Cramer highlighted the significance of Schlotterbeck’s role, both as a player and person. Manager Lars Ricken emphasized Schlotterbeck’s leadership and resilience, especially after recovering from a recent injury. Sporting Director Ole Book praised his skills and aggressiveness, considering him one of the best center-backs.
