Cambrex High Point Clears Key Global Inspections, Boosting Manufacturing Capacity

Cambrex, a significant player in contract development and manufacturing, has completed three Pre-Approval Inspections at its High Point, North Carolina facility. These inspections by the FDA, PMDA, and TGA certify the facility to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients for the U.S., Japan, and Australia. This milestone positions High Point as a crucial manufacturing location within Cambrex's global operations.

The inspections evaluated the site's quality systems, data integrity, and operational controls. This achievement follows a $38 million expansion at High Point in 2023, enhancing its capabilities with new development laboratories and manufacturing suites designed for lower-volume production, including specialized therapies.

Cambrex CEO, Thomas Loewald, emphasized that the facility's focus addresses the industry's growing demand for smaller-scale production for niche therapies. High Point complements Cambrex's global network, offering a streamlined path from development to commercial supply.
