Cando Solar Unveils Innovative Lightweight Solar Solution for Space

Cando Solar has introduced its new solar wing solution, the "Cando Solar Cloth," at the SATELLITE × GovMilSpace event in Washington, D.C. This solar technology aims to revolutionize commercial low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and 6G communications. The Cando Solar Cloth marks a shift from "area efficiency" to "weight efficiency," crucial for the booming global space industry facing cost and weight challenges.

The Cando Solar Cloth features a rollable design with a weight-to-area ratio of 300-900 g/m², significantly minimizing launch volume. Its HJT cells offer up to 35% efficiency while cutting costs by 90% compared to traditional GaAs cells. It has undergone rigorous testing guaranteeing high durability.

Huang Qiang, founder of Cando Solar, highlighted the solution as essential for advancing efficient and cost-effective energy to facilitate the journey beyond Earth.
