Carrefour's Steady Growth in Q1 2026
Carrefour reported a 2.2% increase in sales for Q1 2026, enhanced by strong performances in France and Spain. In France, sales rose by 1.4% LFL, driven by market share gains and investments in competitiveness. Notably, former Cora and Match stores outperformed legacy formats.
In Spain, sales increased by 3.1% LFL, supported by a robust market. Conversely, Brazil faced challenges with a slight sales dip of 0.8% LFL amid slowing food inflation.
Carrefour continues to roll out its 2030 plan, expanding growth formats with 122 new convenience stores in France and Spain. Initiatives like the integration of e-commerce with ChatGPT and the launch of the Bulnez private label in Brazil mark strategic advancements.
Carrefour confirms all financial targets for 2026, including growth in operating income and a stronger operating margin.
