Casino is giving up its appeal against its criminal conviction

The Casino Group has announced its decision not to appeal its recent criminal conviction. On January 29, the Paris Criminal Court imposed a fine of €40 million, €20 million of which was suspended, for offenses dating back to 2018-2019. Despite its decision not to appeal, the group plans to contest the calculation of civil damages imposed by the court.

This decision comes in a context where Casino and its creditors are engaged in prolonged discussions, unless otherwise notified before February 21, 2026. The group does not appear to want to increase its legal and financial challenges by pursuing additional legal proceedings.
