LightOn joins OpenEuroLLM for a sovereign European AI

LightOn, a European artificial intelligence company, joins the OpenEuroLLM consortium. This project, supported by the European Commission, aims to develop open source language models to strengthen Europe's digital competitiveness. Composed of 20 members, the consortium seeks to democratize access to cutting-edge AI technologies.

Laurent Daudet, co-founder of LightOn, highlights the importance of the AI Act and European collaboration for trusted AI. LightOn stands out for its expertise in open source models, including ModernBert. With its Paradigm platform, it offers an alternative to closed models, while reducing costs and strengthening the digital sovereignty of companies.

This initiative responds to a growing need for relevant and accessible AI tools, embodying the ambition of European digital sovereignty.
