Nicolas Samsoen elected chairman of the supervisory board of the Société des grands projets

Nicolas Samsoen was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Société des Grands Projets at the meeting on June 25, 2026. He succeeds Karim Bouamrane. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure, Samsoen has extensive experience in urban planning and transportation, having held key positions at Epamsa, AREP, and Transdev.

His mandate includes major objectives, notably the opening of Line 18 of the Grand Paris Express in December 2026. This project is expected to facilitate travel for the 70,000 users of the Saclay plateau in the Île-de-France region. Meanwhile, the commissioning of Line 15 South has been postponed to autumn 2027, due to delays in the installation of transport and automation systems in the tunnels.

This postponement is due to the complexity of the project and the integration of infrastructure. The Major Projects Company remains committed to resolving these challenges to minimize the impact on users and operators.
