Unipol Dome Opens in Milan as New Hub for Entertainment and Sports
The Unipol Dome in Milan, developed by CTS EVENTIM, officially launched with a concert by Italian rock star Luciano Ligabue. The event, attended by 16,000 fans, marks a significant addition to CTS EVENTIM's venue portfolio, positioning Milan as a key player in the live entertainment industry.
The opening, attended by notable figures such as Italy’s Minister of Tourism and Milan’s Mayor, included a tour of the venue's premium areas. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, the 16,000-capacity arena boasts advanced production infrastructure and sustainability features like a photovoltaic system, aiming for LEED Gold certification.
Previously used for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games, the Dome will complete its transition to a multipurpose arena by summer, heralding its first full season in the autumn. The venue is expected to significantly boost Milan’s cultural and economic landscape.
