Eiffage Secures €1.5 Billion Contract for Offshore Wind Farms

Eiffage, via its subsidiary Smulders, has been awarded an EPCIC contract by RTE, the French transmission system operator. The contract involves the development and construction of three substations for the Bretagne Sud, Narbonnaise Sud-Hérault, and Golfe de Fos offshore wind farms in France. This project, valued at over €1.5 billion, encompasses the creation of jacket foundations and topside structures. Each substation will support a 750 MW capacity, enhancing Europe's energy transition efforts by connecting over 2 GW of decarbonized electricity to the grid.

The construction involves significant manufacturing contributions from Smulders and its partners in France and Europe, with assemblies taking place at Eiffage Métal’s site in Fos-sur-Mer and in the Netherlands. This initiative underscores RTE’s goal to leverage Europe's industrial base for offshore wind connections, aiming to boost economic benefits for French regions. Additionally, this contract bolsters Eiffage's position in the renewable energy sector, complementing its strategic focus on expanding its presence in offshore wind.
