E.ON Maintains Growth with Strategic Energy Transition Investments
E.ON SE, a leading energy company, reported a positive performance for the first half of 2026, with an adjusted Group EBITDA increasing to €5.4 billion from €5.3 billion in 2025, and adjusted net income rising to €1.9 billion from €1.8 billion. The company invested €3 billion in energy infrastructure and digital solutions, reinforcing its commitment to Europe's energy transition. E.ON expects 2026 to close with an adjusted EBITDA between €9.4-€9.6 billion and net income from €2.7 to €2.9 billion.
Key growth contributors in 2026 included strong operational performance and strategic investments, particularly in expanding Germany’s energy networks and enhancing energy retail operations. Energy Networks maintained stability, while Energy Infrastructure Solutions saw a 19% rise in EBITDA, driven by industrial projects in Germany. Despite facing structural challenges in Germany, Energy Retail also performed well.
E.ON’s CEO, Leonhard Birnbaum, emphasized the importance of sustained investment to scale the energy system intelligently, highlighting the need for high-performing networks and digital solutions.
