Eurobattery Minerals and Terrafame Collaborate on Nickel-Cobalt Refinement

Eurobattery Minerals AB and Terrafame Ltd. have initiated a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly advance a refining program for nickel-cobalt concentrates from Eurobattery’s Hautalampi project. This collaboration aims to process 100% of the nickel-cobalt concentrate at Terrafame's facilities, integrating FinnCobalt’s production with Terrafame's capabilities.

The partnership underscores a strategic move towards sustainable and efficient mineral processing, aiming to conclude by the end of 2026. Terrafame’s leading role in low-carbon battery chemicals positions it as a vital player to enhance Europe’s battery material supply chain.

Eurobattery Minerals sees this cooperation as a foundation for stable raw material demand, crucial for its growth and financial stability. The Hautalampi project is expected to produce 1,300 tons of nickel and 400 tons of cobalt annually.

This initiative aligns with broader efforts to establish sustainable, localized supply chains necessary for the green transition in Finland and Europe.
