Eutelsat secures one billion in funding for its OneWeb satellites
On February 11, 2026, Eutelsat confirmed it had secured nearly one billion euros in financing from the French Export Credit Agency. This amount is intended to acquire satellites for its OneWeb constellation in low Earth orbit (LEO).
A consortium of private banks, protected by a guarantee from the French Treasury through Bpifrance Assurance Export, is providing this €975 million financing. The disbursement is subject to conditions, including a bond issue by Eutelsat.
This fund supports the contract with Airbus for 340 new satellites, in addition to the previous 100, ensuring continuity of service for OneWeb. This contract strengthens Eutelsat's financial structure and facilitates the deployment of its LEO programs.
Société Générale is coordinating the financing, in collaboration with several banks. Rothschild & Cie and Latham & Watkins LLP are advising Eutelsat on financial and legal matters, respectively.
