Exasol Reports Mixed Results in First Half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, Exasol AG experienced mixed business results, majorly impacted by cautious investment from existing customers and a delayed sales rollout with a strategic partner. The company, however, acquired 11 new customers due to an increased focus on data sovereignty and AI support, which are not yet compensating for the reduced business momentum from existing clients.

The company faced challenges from higher hardware prices and a tough macroeconomic environment. Additionally, Exasol's ARR churn rate significantly decreased, more than halving compared to the end of 2025. Revenue took a hit, declining by 11.6% to EUR 19.0 million, partly due to decreased non-recurring hardware and services revenue. This decline has led to a revision of Exasol's financial guidance for 2026, with expected ARR changes and revenue decline adjustments.

A strategic focus on data sovereignty and agentic AI proved beneficial, attracting new customers. Exasol's CEO Jörg Tewes highlighted the company's aim to strengthen its position in new customer business through these technologies.
