Record Passenger Numbers at Vienna Airport in 2025
Vienna Airport achieved new milestones in 2025, recording 43.4 million passengers under the Flughafen Wien Group and 32.6 million specifically in Vienna. However, challenges are anticipated for 2026. Low-cost carriers, such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, are reducing capacity, impacting passenger numbers. The airport projects 41.5 million passengers for the group and 30 million in Vienna next year.
Despite these challenges, Vienna Airport plans record investments of €330 million, aimed at enhancing infrastructure. Strategic expansions, including new terminal extensions and office spaces, are set for 2026. The financial outlook remains stable with a projected net profit of €210 million, supported by a cost-cutting program.
Popular travel destinations in 2025 included Antalya, Mallorca, and Barcelona, with Germany, Spain, and Italy as leading countries. Meanwhile, Malta and Kosice Airports reported significant passenger increases, showcasing strong international growth.
