FDE and Cemex: a partnership to decarbonize the cement industry
The French Energy Company (FDE) has announced a strategic partnership with Cemex to deploy Cryo Pur cryogenic carbon capture technology. This project aims to reduce industrial CO2 emissions in the cement sector through a pilot plant in France, with a view to European adoption.
Avion's 4,000 Nm³/h pilot unit will be used to optimize the process before a larger-scale deployment in Poland. FDE's electricity-powered technology could enable Cemex to integrate renewable carbon sequestration practices into its operations.
This project benefits from ADEME subsidies and could generate considerable annual revenue, strengthening FDE's role as a leader in the energy transition in Europe.
