FDE Strengthens Position in Norway with Romerike Biogassanlegg Acquisition
La Française de l'Énergie (FDE) announces the acquisition of Romerike Biogassanlegg AS, a profitable renewable natural gas facility near Oslo. Acquired for €4.5 million, this facility processes municipal waste to produce renewable natural gas (RNG). The acquisition supports FDE's strategy to boost RNG infrastructure in Norway and expects a positive financial impact by 2027.
The Romerike plant processes 20,000 metric tons of waste annually, generating €5 million in revenue. FDE plans to enhance operations and increase RNG output to 75 GWh per year by adding a Cryo Pur unit for liquefied RNG and CO2. This aligns with FDE's goal to expand its Norwegian RNG capacity over 400 GWh annually by 2028.
This move fits within FDE's broader objectives to reach substantial revenue and emission reduction targets by 2030. The acquisition forms a key part of FDE's long-term growth plans in Norway's biomethane market.
