French Energy Company: Expansion of Green Electricity
La Française de l'Énergie (FDE) has announced the activation of two new green electricity production units in Rouvignies, increasing its fleet to 19 engines, a 27% increase since June 2026. This is part of an ambitious goal to double its capacity within three years, supported by 15-year power purchase agreements with EDF. Each engine, powered by mine gas, contributes to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
These developments follow the January 2026 agreement for the exploitation of mine gas. In addition, 16 new engines have been secured for future sites, with targeted production generating annual revenue of €18 million.
With an energy diversification strategy, FDE is advantageously positioned to face market challenges, guaranteeing sustainable revenues and a positive environmental impact.
