Success for La Française de l'Énergie with the PTH-2 drilling
La Française de l'Énergie (FDE) has announced the completion of the PTH-2 well in Pontpierre, confirming the presence of natural hydrogen in the Moselle subsoil. This well, the deepest in the world dedicated to hydrogen, is part of the REGALOR II research program. Partners such as RED Drilling and Baker Hughes contributed to this ambitious project.
The research aims to understand the mechanisms of dissolved hydrogen formation and the conditions for its exploitation. FDE intends to continue its research on the extensive Trois-Évêchés permit to assess the basin's potential. Similar projects are being considered in Europe and the United States, highlighting the growing global interest in natural hydrogen.
