Friedrich Vorwerk Group Secures Hydrogen Pipeline Contract
Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE has been awarded a significant contract to construct the H2Coastlink 1 hydrogen pipeline, connecting Emden and Leer. This endeavor is part of a joint venture with ARGE, contracted by EWE NETZ GmbH, serving as the general contractor for GTG Nord GmbH. The project highlights a 24 km high-pressure hydrogen pipeline, which will link Emden's future electrolyser to the expanded hydrogen network in Leer.
With an estimated value in the double-digit millions of euros, preparations will commence in summer 2026, targeting completion by autumn 2027. Supported by Germany's IPCEI hydrogen program, this pipeline is an integral component of the country's hydrogen core network. The project involves novel construction techniques like horizontal directional drilling to navigate ecologically sensitive zones.
