Gedeon Richter Plc.: First Year of the House of Hope in Bamako

In January 2026, Gedeon Richter Plc. celebrated the first anniversary of the House of Hope in Bamako. Since its inception, the centre has supported nearly 120 women, providing healthcare, legal aid, and education. New participants are consistently joining, as the initiative plans to expand its reach across Mali.

Founded with Hungarian and local partnerships, the House aims to offer safety and support to women fleeing violence. The centre was instrumental during Mali's legislative change in 2025, which banned female genital mutilation.

Diverse programmes have seen 38 women receiving gynaecological care, 9 obtaining legal assistance, 30 joining vocational training, and 40 engaging in community outreach against FGM. Gedeon Richter remains committed to advancing women's health and safety in Mali.
