Grande Portage Seeks Easement for Road Access in Alaska

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. has applied for a State of Alaska easement to develop a gravel road for its New Amalga Gold project. This development will include a 1.3-mile road and two equipment staging areas, enhancing exploration logistics. By reducing the helicopter shuttle distance by over 60%, the initiative aims to improve the efficiency of transporting drilling equipment and supplies while minimizing noise impact on nearby residential areas.

The road will cover approximately one-third of the distance from Glacier Highway to the project site. Further development requires federal review and permits. The future site plans exclude an ore processing plant or landfill, focusing instead on off-site processing due to the location's proximity to tidewater and public highways.
