MWC26 Barcelona Celebrates 20 Years of Connectivity Milestones
The MWC26 event concluded in Barcelona, marking its 20th anniversary with nearly 105,000 attendees from around the globe. The event, famous for its focus on connectivity and innovation, hosted a variety of AI advancements, debates, and innovative showcases such as the Airport of the Future and numerous robotics demonstrations.
Despite global travel disruptions, the event attracted participants from 207 countries. It featured 2,900 exhibitors and over 1,700 speakers, including 45% at the director level and above. The GSMA Ministerial Programme also gathered significant governmental and regulatory figures.
Vivek Badrinath, the new GSMA Director General, hailed the event as a showcase of global connectivity progress. He highlighted discussions on AI, 5G potential, and cybersecurity challenges as central to the event's success.
