Homann Holzwerkstoffe Embraces 2025 Sustainability Goals

Homann Holzwerkstoffe GmbH, a major European supplier of fibreboards, has announced its 2025 Sustainability Statement. This marks the company's fifth voluntary sustainability release, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility. Notably, the group has integrated the revised European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), ahead of the mandatory schedule set for 2027.

The company's updates include a refined double materiality analysis, reducing the number of material impacts, risks, and opportunities from 20 to 12. The ESRS S4 standard was excluded as Homann Holzwerkstoffe focuses on B2B operations, not direct consumer sales. Operational moves include a new production site in Lithuania and investments across existing facilities, leading to a 42% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to 2020.

Additionally, Homann Holzwerkstoffe achieved its target of 25 hours of employee training, ensuring product quality and safety. The company aims to source 54% of its electricity from renewables in 2026, up from 45% in 2025.
