HKSTP Strengthens Ties with Europe in AI and Innovation

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) led a delegation of eight companies to Germany and Austria from 21 to 25 September 2026. In collaboration with German Industry and Commerce, and ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, the visit aimed at fostering innovation in AI, new industrialisation, and smart city technologies. This mission strengthened HKSTP's connections with Europe and spotlighted Hong Kong's pivotal role as a liaison in technological advancement.

Key events included participation at the Applied Artificial Intelligence Conference 2026 in Vienna, where Professor Sun Dong highlighted Hong Kong's leading position in AI innovation and invited Austria for further collaboration. The delegation engaged with major industry stakeholders in Munich, Vienna, and Graz, discussing advancements in industrial AI and smart manufacturing. Companies such as Amber International and Echronos AI Group showcased groundbreaking solutions in AI-powered marketing and business applications.

The mission underlined the strategic importance of international cooperation for expanding Hong Kong's innovation landscape, opening pathways for cross-border collaboration and commercialisation in Europe.
