Horizon Aircraft Partners with MHIRJ to Enhance Regional Air Mobility
Horizon Aircraft has announced a strategic partnership with MHI RJ Aviation Group (MHIRJ), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, to advance its hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft, the Cavorite X7. This collaboration aims to harness MHIRJ's engineering expertise to further develop and test the Cavorite X7, with flight tests scheduled for early 2027.
MHIRJ will support the project by focusing on the design and development of flight test instrumentation, essential for data collection during the aircraft's test program. Their experience in regional aviation positions them as a valuable partner for Horizon Aircraft's endeavor.
Brandon Robinson, Horizon Aircraft CEO, emphasized how this partnership reduces technical risks, pushing the Cavorite X7 towards testing and certification. MHIRJ Senior Vice-President Elio Ruggi highlighted the potential for growth and technological advancement through this collaboration.
