Huawei Launches Hi-ONE Optical Engine at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026

Huawei has introduced the Hi-ONE, the industry's first NPO optical engine with a built-in light source, at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026. The Hi-ONE offers a total capacity of 7.2 TB/s, setting a new benchmark in high-speed optical interconnect technology. It is integrated into the Ascend 960 SuperPoD, adhering to a "UnifiedBus plus Hi-ONE" architecture, which reduces the number of 800G optical modules by 48,000, decreases power consumption, and enhances reliability.

Hi-ONE introduces new efficiencies in the AI computing industry by minimizing power consumption and latency. It integrates 36 channels of optical transceivers, uses compound optical chips, and supports 7.2 TB/s transmission capacity on a single optical engine. Through collaboration with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Huawei is pioneering the development of international NPO standards and fostering industry consensus.
