Huawei Unveils Intelligent WAN Architecture for ISPs

On September 17, during the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event in Shanghai, Huawei presented its Intelligent WAN Target Architecture, aiming to enhance AI services for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This development seeks to leverage AI and computing power as the ISP sector evolves, transitioning from mere bandwidth providers to AI service enablers.

Wayne Zhou, Vice President at Huawei, emphasized the acceleration of AI commercialization, with ISPs moving to integrate connectivity and computing to monetize services. The Intelligent WAN Architecture will support this transition by building a unified, intelligent WAN for AI readiness, augmenting service delivery and network resilience.

Ado, CEO of Huawei's WAN Domain, outlined three strategic priorities: creating a standardized IP+Optical architecture to improve service expansion and resilience; enhancing user experience to make network services measurable and profitable; and advancing intelligent operations and maintenance to reduce costs.

The event featured presentations from Lintasarta, SiliconFlow, and Telconet, sharing insights into AI services and network deployments. Huawei's ongoing innovation efforts in this domain aim to support ISPs in capturing AI-driven growth opportunities.
