IBU-tec's Mid-2026 Success Driven by LFP Plant Expansion
IBU-tec Advanced Materials AG reported a successful first half of 2026, achieving revenue of EUR 19.7 million, compared to EUR 18.9 million in the previous year. EBITDA reached EUR 2.0 million, with a margin of 10.2%, slightly surpassing the full-year target range. Significant construction progress was made on the LFP cathode material plant at the Bitterfeld-Wolfen site, set for completion by 2028. This plant will be the largest in Europe, producing 15,000 tons annually, under a 10-year agreement with PowerCo SE.
By 2030, IBU-tec anticipates revenue growth to EUR 120-140 million, with the battery segment contributing EUR 85-90 million. The company aims to reduce Europe's LFP material dependency on China. A notable order in the battery services segment has also been secured. CEO Jörg Leinenbach emphasized their role in Europe's battery supply chain.
