Innovative Molecules Advances with Phase 2a Trial for Adibelivir

Innovative Molecules GmbH, a biotechnology company specializing in antiviral therapies, has commenced dosing in a Phase 2a clinical trial for adibelivir (IM-250) to treat recurrent genital herpes. This step marks a significant milestone, advancing the company into proof-of-concept development.

The trial will assess safety, antiviral activity, pharmacokinetics, and clinical efficacy of adibelivir, an orally available helicase-primase inhibitor targeting herpes simplex virus. CEO Florian Vogel highlighted this as a major step in providing a transformative therapy for herpes simplex-associated diseases.

Simultaneously, the company is expanding its pipeline with a program targeting Epstein-Barr virus. This dual approach positions Innovative Molecules as a key player in developing next-generation herpesvirus therapies.
