Ipsen strengthens its oncology offering with the acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics
On August 21, 2026, Ipsen announced the acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics, thereby strengthening its oncology portfolio. This acquisition includes navtemadlin, a Phase III clinical-stage MDM2 inhibitor for the treatment of myelofibrosis.
Navtemadlin could transform suboptimal responses to ruxolitinib in patients with myelofibrosis. This disease, a myeloproliferative neoplasm, causes fibrosis of the bone marrow, affecting patients' quality of life. Currently, ruxolitinib remains the standard treatment despite its moderate response.
Ipsen's objective is to improve clinical outcomes for these patients by offering innovative therapeutic options to potentially increase survival time.
