Kaifeng’s Cultural Revival Impresses SCO Partners

In late July, Kaifeng, an ancient Chinese capital, hosted attendees from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Media and Think Tank Summit. Delegates from over 20 countries, including Russia and Egypt, explored the city's rich cultural heritage. Situated on the Yellow River, Kaifeng has over 4,100 years of history and was the Northern Song Dynasty capital, thriving as a major political and cultural hub.

The Millennium City Park, a highlight of the visit, vividly recreates scenes from the artistic masterpiece "Along the River During Qingming Festival." Over 200 Song-style structures and 800 performers bring history to life. Guests experienced traditional crafts like Bian embroidery and Song porcelain, integrating history with modern vitality.

The summit underscored Kaifeng's blend of history and resilience, with cultural attractions sparking admiration and musical instruments symbolizing economic growth. This fusion of heritage and progress continues to shape the city's identity.
