Kaleon Expands Tourism Services with 80% Acquisition of Water Taxi Operator
Milan, October 13, 2026 – Kaleon S.p.A., affiliated with the Borromeo family, announced its acquisition of an 80% stake in Navigazione Isole Borromee Lago Maggiore, enhancing its tourism services on Lake Maggiore. This acquisition adds five boats and five water taxi licenses to Kaleon's portfolio, aiming to enrich the visitor experience and strengthen its appeal to tour operators through bundled offers.
Navigazione Isole Borromee has shown solid growth, generating €790k in revenue in 2025. The transaction, valued at €2.0 million, will be consolidated into Kaleon's financial statements from September 1, 2026. The existing management retains a 20% stake, ensuring alignment and continuity.
Vitaliano Borromeo Arese, Chairman of Kaleon's Board, highlighted that controlling a water taxi company offers prospects for developing premium offerings and establishing Lake Maggiore as a prime tourist destination.
