Kalo Gold Identifies Gold-Silver Electrum at Wainikoro Project

Kalo Gold Corp. has announced the discovery of finely grained electrum, a gold-silver alloy, in their drill core from Wainikoro at the Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji. This identification stems from a study completed by Heidi Walton from the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter, utilizing geological mapping and various microscopy techniques.

SEM-EDS analysis revealed a 20-micrometer electrum grain, comprised of approximately 68.6% gold and 31.4% silver, in a drill hole. This discovery provides mineralogical evidence of gold's presence as an alloy at Wainikoro. The direct association of electrum with arsenian pyrite within a sericite-bearing matrix supports a hydrothermal model, indicating structural controls via fracturing and brecciation. This association broadens understanding of the mineralization process, highlighting the prospectivity for gold and silver in the area.

This finding enhances Kalo Gold's exploration strategy, offering criteria for refining future trench and drill targets, aiding in the project's prospective development.
