SDAX AGM Speeches Lack Accessibility, Finds Kirchhoff
A recent analysis by Kirchhoff Consult GmbH highlights that AGM speeches in the SDAX are predominantly complex and lack accessibility. The study reviewed speeches from 30 SDAX companies, using those of Deutsche Telekom and Siemens Energy as benchmarks. On the German Flesch Index, SDAX speeches averaged a readability score of 44.3, indicating difficulty, while the reference speeches scored over 70, signifying moderate ease.
Despite a largely neutral sentiment in SDAX speeches—where 52.7% of content held neutral tones—differences emerged in capital market sentiment. SDAX scores averaged +28.9, significantly lower than Deutsche Telekom's +72 and Siemens Energy's +82. Furthermore, the study identified that SDAX speeches tend to focus more on finance, with 26% of their content dedicated to financial topics.
The analysis calls for better structured and more accessible content in SDAX speeches, emphasizing clarity and personal engagement. Concrete examples and a clear structure are pivotal for conveying complex business models effectively.
