Knorr-Bremse Acquires duagon Group to Boost Rail Business

Knorr-Bremse, a leader in braking systems and safety solutions for rail and commercial vehicles, has acquired the duagon Group. This acquisition aims to enhance Knorr-Bremse's electronic and software solutions for rail vehicles. The move will make Knorr-Bremse the global leader in electronic platform solutions for safe and efficient rail transport.

The acquisition offers significant synergies with Knorr-Bremse's existing division, particularly in electronics for braking and entrance systems. duagon's capabilities will complement Knorr-Bremse's business, enhancing their market presence in Europe and contributing to the company's high-margin growth strategy.

Expected benefits include improved product development, cost efficiency, and increased revenues. The purchase price is approximately EUR 500 million, plus a possible performance bonus.
