Lhyfe and Perpetual Next Pursue Renewable Hydrogen Supply in Delfzijl
Perpetual Next and Lhyfe Delfzijl have entered a Memorandum of Understanding to explore providing up to 12,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for Perpetual Next's future biomethanol facility in Delfzijl, the Netherlands.
The collaboration targets decarbonizing hard-to-electrify sectors like the maritime and chemical industries. Renewable hydrogen is intended to enhance the production of biomethanol by converting more biogenic carbon from biomass-derived syngas.
Delfzijl hosts a significant industrial cluster and is a major hydrogen user that may grow under new EU directives. Through this MoU, both companies aim to evaluate the integration of renewable hydrogen supply, fortifying their projects amid the evolving energy landscape.
