Solarpro and LONGi Partner on Hungary's Largest Solar Plant
Solarpro is constructing Hungary's largest solar power plant, using LONGi's cutting-edge solar modules. Set in northern Hungary, the 450-Megawatt project will utilize nearly 700,000 units from LONGi's Hi-MO9 series. This marks an extension of the collaboration between the two companies, who previously worked on a 176 MW solar park in Romania.
The plant aims to supply clean electricity to approximately 106,000 households annually, with a generation capacity of 470 Gigawatt-hours per year. This shift from fossil fuels is expected to cut emissions by 415,000 tons annually, comparable to removing over 100,000 gas-powered cars from the road.
LONGi's Hi-MO9 modules feature back contact technology that reduces micro-cracking by 50% and boosts electricity generation by 8%. This enhances long-term performance, particularly in northern Hungary's challenging conditions. Leon Zhang and Krasen Mateev, of LONGi and Solarpro respectively, emphasize the project's significance for renewable energy innovation and sustainability.
