MaaT Pharma Reports Preliminary Findings from PICASSO Trial

MaaT Pharma has updated on the Phase 2a PICASSO trial, analyzing the safety of its microbiome therapy MaaT013 (Xervyteg®) combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with metastatic melanoma. Conducted by AP-HP with INRA e and Gustave Roussy, the study found no significant difference in severe adverse events between treatment groups.

The trial, involving 70 randomized patients across five French centers, aimed to assess if adding MaaT013 to ipilimumab and nivolumab is safe and feasible. Secondary endpoints such as response rates were similar across both arms, with exploratory analyses suggesting baseline microbiome composition's influence on treatment response.

The trial noted improvements in microbiome richness when treated with MaaT013, offering hope for further analyses to guide MaaT034's development. These findings, though preliminary, contribute to the understanding of microbiome therapies in oncology.
